King`s Diner in Kodiak Island

Simple dinner that make pretty good comfort foods. The Chefs are great!

Their sourdough pancakes are phenomenal!

First meal on Kodiak Island.... Excellent Food.... Excellent Service!!!

This was a average diner but our server was great.

I had never had sourdough pancakes until I visited King's diner. I wasn't disappointed.

Great little diner set back on the side of a low building, kind of hard to see from the road especially if your heading into town. If you pass the end of the runway and see the lake you went to far. Has a adequate breakfast and lunch menu with rain deer sausage pancakes hash browns and of course bacon and eggs. The wait staff are friendly and know the area well if you a new visitor and you might see a bush plane or float plane take off if you grab a window booth

Great local place with wonderful service and top quality food. I had the reindeer omelette. The blueberry pancakes were super too.

In Kodiak and want breakfast or lunch? You gotta try Kings Diner at least once. If you don't, have you really been to Kodiak?

Exactly what you expect from a small town dinner. Open kitchen. Good breakfast and hot never ending coffee. A little expensive but not bad for Kodiak. The best breakfast in town.

As much as I try to give King's a try, the food is pretty hit or miss. The waitstaff is always so kind, but the food isn't always that great. Sometimes the food isn't cooked all the way...I've found hair in my food the last few times I've gone so I've given up.

The waitress seemed annoyed. When my eggs came back extremely runny (I'd asked for them to be scrambled and dry) I mentioned it to her and she just gave me a disgusted look and said nothing. She didn't offer to get it fixed or anything. I ended up just saying never mind and paid a ridiculous amount for food I didn't eat. Definitely will not return.

Food is usually okay....service is almost always subpar! We didn't like the options for the breakfast burrito, so we asked for a tortilla on the side of the ham and cheese breakfast. The response? "Um, no. We can't do that." She didn't even so much as pretend to go ask if it could be done. I proceeded to ask if we could get a tortilla for an additional charge. The answer? A straight "No". Unacceptable service. It's unfortunate that poor service and mediocre food is one of the only options of breakfast on this island.

I sat down and it took the server about 10 minutes to come to my table. I ordered. Took about 25 minutes for 2 eggs and 4 pieces of bacon. The food was good. I'll definitely be going back simply on the basis of it being Kodiak island and there are no other options. If it were the mainland, I wouldnt be going back, but it is what it is. Overall I'd give it a 5/10. They weren't busy. I counted the people in there and the count was 21 and 17 of them were already eating. So, do what you want with that information.

King's Diner sits on the city muni airport runway. It's fun to watch when a plane lands or takes off outside our window. Great food! Nostalgic.

MMMmmm...pancakes. This is a really cool small diner. They serve great food which is on the more expensive side, but it still fits the bill. Like everyone else is saying, the pancakes are pretty good; they're probably the cheapest things on the menu, but they're big and tasty. $5.00 for two big pancakes...Rats, now I want pancakes.

Although they are only open from 6:00am until 1:00 pm, King's serves a great variety of delicious breakfast items. The portions are generous and the prices are Kodiak reasonable. The pancakes are thick and wonderful. Great service! The only negative for a Southerner is the lack of grits on the menu, LOL!

Good food. Decent menu selection. Priced reasonably for Kodiak. A little maintenance may be needed and up keep in the diner to make it more presentable. The bathroom is a little nasty. You should go if you want easy simple food at a decent price.

Really Enjoyed Lunch - ate at the counter very good service and food.

The food was great, but very very slow. Came in for breakfast and it took 45 min + even though there were only a few tables.

Good, just like home cooked meals, pleasant atmosphere, hours are over at 2 p.m.

This is a solid local diner and the only one of its kind in town. Basic diner food and reliable service. Coffee refills and generous portions. You know the drill. An old standard that we love!

I had my first job here I made six dollars an hour washing dishes I miss Kodiak I miss Eleanor King and the ladies the waitresses who worked here through me a party when I had to leave it was 1991 I miss Kodiak
